Battlefield 2 Widescreen Patch Download
Battlefield 2 Widescreen Support
So I tried this guide: http://www.widescreengaming.net/wiki/Battlefield_1942
And it didn't really work, it kept resetting.
What you want to do is open your Origin Games folder, then open the Battlefield 1942 folder, to the right top in the searchfield type: video
You'll notice that you find a lot of files.
We're only looking for the video.con and videocustom.con files.
- But Attention! I wrote about 'widescreen': 'True wide screen' is: 1. You play in native resolution of your screen 2. Pictures are not distorded (a circle in reality is a circle in game and not an ellipse (ellipsoid). I did not write you could get 'widescreen' in Battlefield 1942 (or its Mods) menu!

*Is it not showing .con?
Go to your config screen in windows> Mapoptions> Display (second tab) > You'll see a long list, search for: 'Hide extensions of known filestypes.
This was all translated to English from a Dutch Windows 7, so sorry if it's different for you! **

Now we got that out of the way, go back to the search field of the video, and one by one, open the video.con [Important! open it by using WORDPAD!]
and videocustom.con files Open them, set your resolution to 1920x1080
(or 1920x1200 for me, 16:10 aspect ratio ftw, huza masterrace and more.)
When you're done, go to each of these files properties and set it to Read Only. This will stop the game from adjusting settings, so do that before doing this.
This is to prevent it resetting your resolution.
If you want a proper FOV for your widescreen resolution, go to the Videodefault.con file, open it and set renderer.fieldOfView to 1.2
